NO MOUNTAINS IN MANHATTAN OUT NOW VIA XL RECORDINGS
Today, New York’s Wiki is back to share a new video. “Stickball,” one of the standouts from Wiki’s recently released debut album, No Mountains in Manhattan, receives a visual treatment reminiscent of old New York that finds Wiki and company playing stickball in the streets of downtown Manhattan.
In August, Wiki released No Mountains in Manhattan to critical acclaim. Hailed as a “true New York poet” (The FADER), Wiki has further solidified his place as one of the most exciting young voices in rap with his candid perspective on coming of age in New York.

KURUPT FM The Lost Tape released 17 November Share new single ‘Suttin’ Like That’
Having already made history by single-handedly bringing back UK Garage, Kurupt FM have decided to do it again with the greatest mix ever recorded – according to them.
Taken from this legendary Lost Tape set, which was broadcast live on Kurupt FM 108.9 and was recorded onto cassette tape by an anonymous listener, ‘Suttin’ Like That’ is a 100% Kurupt original. MC Grindah says of the track “EVRY 2 OR 3 YEARS WE DROP A NEW SINGLE. NOW IS THAT TIME.? SUTTIN LIKE THAT! MAKE SURE YOU COP DAT.”
With the music video premiering via BBC One’s new ‘Sounds Like Friday Night’ show, ‘Suttin’ Like That’ kicks off the hype of The Lost Tape and goes some way towards proving it’s legendary status.
Once lost in a backpack in deepest Brentford, The Lost Tape has now been uncovered, remixed and mastered for the very first time. A journey across an entire CD, the tape documents the seminal tracks which have shaped club culture from Hammersmith Boulevard to the Champagne Steam Rooms.
Get ready for Kurupt FM to change the course of music history, yet again.
Copenhagen based duo Smerz take you to the dark corners of the club in the video for new track ‘No harm’. As premiered on their new NTS show, Catharina and Henriette’s new track showcases a darker side to their musical palate, a feeling echoed in their visuals. The video was produced and directed by Smerz, and as with all Smerz music, the track was produced, programmed and sung entirely by the Norwegian duo.
The duo use their first hour-long NTS mix to play everything from minimalist R&B to deconstructed club music and full on techno floor-fillers, introducing listeners to their eclectic palate and wide range of influences. It’s a display they are bringing to various European cities this winter with their series of ‘Half life’ parties, which started in Copenhagen with a sold out show and after-party this weekend.

WATCH THE NICK WALKER-DIRECTED VIDEO BELOW
Everything Is Recorded – the new collaborative artist project from Richard Russell – today release a new single, ‘Mountains Of Gold’ via XL Recordings. It sees the record producer and XL Recordings head, renowned for his album production work for Bobby Womack, Damon Albarn, Ibeyi and Gil Scott-Heron among others, collaborating with a diverse host of acclaimed artists in the form of London’s very own Sampha (who also lent vocals to Everything Is Recorded’s debut track ‘Close But Not Quite’), French-Cuban duo Ibeyi, NYC rapper WIki and LA jazz titan Kamasi Washington.
“’Mountains of Gold’ is sound system inspired, you can hear a lot of strong and different personalities and voices in the one song, but the feeling is consistent. Everyone has plenty of space” – Richard Russell
‘Mountains Of Gold’ comes accompanied by a Nick Walker-directed video. The video, which was shot in Los Angeles, features, in order of appearance, Kaner Flex, Lisa-Kainde Diaz (Ibeyi), Mela Murder, Naomi Diaz (Ibeyi), Infinite, Sampha, Wiki, Kamasi Washington, Hardy Blechman, Richard Russell and Quincy Jones.
‘Mountains Of Gold’ is the follow up to Everything Is Recorded’s debut ‘Close But Not Quite’ EP, which featured a similarly eclectic host of international artists including Sampha, Giggs, Obongjayar, Tic, Warren Ellis, Infinite, Mela Murder, Green Gartside and Baluji Shrivastav.. Both releases provide a captivating snapshot of the kind of collaboration and experimentation that has taken place at Russell’s west London studio, The Copper House. This studio has become a creative second home for a revolving cast of vocalists and musicians who pass through to write, record and share ideas, mixing traditional recording sessions with extended, uninhibited live jams.
‘Mountains Of Gold’ is available from today on all digital services and on 12” vinyl featuring exclusive B-side ‘Mountains Of Dub feat. Kamasi Washington’. ‘Mountains Of Dub’ also features live mix and outboard effects by Brian Eno, Redlight and Seb Chew.
Look out for more Everything Is Recorded releases in the very near future.
This is an all-ages show with a licensed bar available for over 18’s.
