SBTRKT RELEASES LIVE ALBUM!

London producer SBTRKT has released his debut live album, available exclusively on iTunes via Young Turks.

Titled LIVE, the 10-tracks are recordings from two shows played at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire in October last year, featuring songs from his self-titled album released in 2011.
Also included are two live videos of ‘Hold On/Migration’ and ‘Wildfire’, filmed using 12 different cameras.

His debut self titled album, released on Young Turks and Remote Control, has been critically received the world over and SBTRKT has become one of today’s most prolific electronic artists.

Has to be said – one of the highlights of 2012 – going to Melbourne with a couple of journos to see The xx play at the gorgeous Forum Theatre.

Despite having won crazy awards, travelled the globe, been praised up the yin yang, Romy, Jamie and Oliver were as lovely, gracious and generous as the first time I met them.

And now they sing us a Christmas song… it really does feel like Christmas.. nawwwh!

In my Top 5 for the year… Coexist.

Get it on vinyl for someone you really love….xx

THE XX APP FOR COEXIST

The xx have launched a new app to go along with their album, Coexist. The free app includes an interactive version of the album artwork that ‘reacts to your touch, movement and environment.’ There are visualizer videos for each track, lyrics, official music videos, tour dates, access to the online store and updates from the band to expand your Coexist experience.

The Coexist app is available from Apple’s App Store and in the Android Market.

THE XX- Live From Bridlington With The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra

Last night, The xx played a very special show with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at the Bridlington Spa.

The band worked with composer Alex Baranowski on arrangements of songs from their first two albums and performed them during a 45-minute show with the 90-piece orchestra.
