VIDEO: ZOMBY ‘With Love’

Using four tracks from Zomby’s forthcoming album, With Love, London based director Ollie Evans has created a tableau vivant-inspired short to preview the new record. Filmed in monochrome and slow motion, Evans takes excerpts from ‘Ascension’, ‘Sunshine in November’, ‘Overdose’ and ‘Memories’ to portray a movement through life and death.

With Love is released via 4AD / Rhythmethod on double CD and triple vinyl, Friday 14th June.

NEWS: ZOMBY – DEDICATION OUT THIS WEEK!

Zomby’s new record Dedication is out today via 4AD / RHYTHMETHOD

One of the most talented producers of a generation, Zomby is both a purist and perfectionist and is capable of negotiating skilfully between genres, be it jungle, dubstep, rave or garage.

It’s been over two and a half years since Zomby released his debut album Where Were U In ‘92?, a rave record evoking that titular period, when Dreamscape, Fantazia and Universe flyers adorned bedroom walls. Returning from his hiatus with typical style, Dedication is both a dark and absorbing album that engulfs the listener, running between sparse electronics, techno hooks and minimal piano riffs. “This record is a dedication to someone much loved and missed”, says Zomby.

Following a series of releases that switched from the melancholic to the menacing, anticipation for new Zomby material is high. At the end of last year, Zomby revealed the hauntingly beautiful new track, ‘Natalia’s Song’, appearing unannounced in a Burial and Kode9 mix for Radio 1. Latest track ‘Things Fall Apart’ is equally exciting; a dark and spiralling jam, featuring vocals from Animal Collective’s Panda Bear.

Listen to snippets of the full album HERE

“A dubby maze of synthesizer arpeggios and old-school rave inspired beats” - Fader
“A dark and sinister jam that combines his earlier fixations for jungle with his new found
appreciation for dubstep” - Prettymuchamazing

“Zomby’s proven that the fundamentals of a sound that peaked over 15 years ago can still be streamlined into the current zeitgeist. He’s gotten to the point where he can invoke old signifiers as something more than you-had-to-be-there nostalgia: all at once, Where Were U in ’92? is a history lesson, a depiction of a musical timeline that folds in on itself, and a revival that works because it approaches its subject with the idea that it simply evolved instead of died” - Pitchfork

MP3/NEWS: ZOMBY ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM + “THINGS FALL APART” MP3

We’re very excited to announce the release of Dedication, the eagerly awaited second album from producer Zomby.

The underground hero first emerged in 2008 with the release of his debut “Where Were U in ’92?” recorded using early 90′s equipment such as an Akai S2000 and an Atari ST. The album was dubbed by Pitchfork as “a history lesson, a depiction of a musical timeline that folds in on itself, and a revival that works because it approaches its subject with the idea that it simply evolved instead of died,”

Dedication sees the return of the immensely talented producer offering a dark and absorbing album which engulfs the listener, alternating between sparse electronics, techno hooks and minimal piano riffs.

Having been freshly signed to 4AD, the first taste of Dedication has been made available, have a listen to Things Fall Apart featuring Panda Bear.
