On the eve of this special occasion, our pals The Lemon Twigs created something very sweet with their friend Nick Roney, who directed this beauty of a music video before your eyes, feat. Nick’s grandparents. “I Wanna Prove To You” comes from the band’s debut album Do Hollywood, out now on 4AD.

“The song is about proving your love which is something I can’t really fathom. But I figured my grandparents knew something about it because they had been married for 50-years, so their relationship seemed to make an appropriate backdrop for the video. Overall the experience was heartbreaking for me but I wish The Lemon Twigs and my grandparents the best and hold no ill-will against them.” Nick Roney, Director

“We had a great time getting to know Nick’s grandparents. They’re great people and we really liked talking to them about music and the values that made their marriage so successful.” The Lemon Twigs

Old Crow Medicine Show are releasing a hearty Best Of album on February 10th 2017, and this week they share a previously unreleased song to feature on the old collection of tunes called “Heart Up In The Sky”. The song was written 20 years ago and recorded in the 2006 sessions for Big Iron World. Read more about it here in Garden & Gun’s exclusive interview and first listen feature:
