Ibeyi have premiered an exclusive remix of their track ‘River’ (from their now critically acclaimed debut album) by head of XL, Richard Russell (under the guise of ‘RLR’) on Les Inrocks late last week (May 7th).

RLR is a new musical project helmed by Richard Russell (who produced Ibeyi’s eponymous debut album). He recently collaborated with Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry to create ‘I Am Paint’, a single that is currently grabbing headlines with the unusual methods applied to getting a copy. Buying the single didn’t require money, instead opting for a system of barter. Fans were invited to make anything they desire and exchange it for a hand-painted vinyl.
Ibeyi recently made their UK live debut with a sold out show at London’s Bush Hall, followed by a sell out North American tour. They have now extended their global tour well into the summer.
