“Rock’s Not Dead: It’s Ruled by Women” Introducing… Snail Mail (Matador Records)

Snail Mail is Jordan’s first band. Though she took up the guitar at age 5 and has been playing ever since, it wasn’t until the spring of 2015—moved by the complementary forces of a devastating Grouper drone set and an insurrectionary Downtown Boys rock baptism—that she endeavoured to form a group of her own. Two weeks after their first practice, Snail Mail played their debut gig at a Maryland festival alongside punk bands Sheer Mag, Priests, and Screaming Females.”

The Brooklyn dwelling Baltimore native Lindsey Jordan piqued Matador’s curiosity with her artful approach to guitar playing, anchored firmly in the heritage of the female-led rock canon of the 90’s and beyond.

Off the back of earning enviable praise and column inches that bely her years, Lindsey & Matador have inked a deal which will see them working towards the release of a new full length record in 2018, the first material since last year’s ‘Habit’ EP. Snail Mail will be seeing out the year playing shows in the U.S.A with Beach Fossils.
