Bobby Womack’s new album The Bravest Man in the Universe is out next Friday 8 June via XL/Rhythmethod.

Produced by Damon Albarn and Richard Russell, The Bravest Man In The Universe was recorded at Albarn’s ‘Studio 13? in west London and New York’s Manhattan Center. It’s Bobby Womack’s first album of original material since 1994?s Resurrection.

POP ETC  (formally The Morning Benders) will release their debut album on 8 June 2012 via Rough Trade/Rhythmethod.

Having released Big Echo on Rough Trade and having played many a dive bar, school quad, house party, county fair and pizza parlor (some of them in Australia), the band decided “the name had simply become too distracting. The MUSIC has always been our number one focus, and we want to present that to people in as pure a way as possible.” From henceforth we shall be known as POP ETC.

You can now grab a download of two songs that will appear on the new record ‘Halfway To Heaven’ and ‘Everything Is Gone’.

Mike Hadreas explains ‘Rusty Chains’ is “a song for a man whose lover has died. He remembers a time, before his partner took sick, where everything felt safe and endless. He asks to be taken next, so they can be together again.”
