TINY RUINS announce ‘Olympic Girls Solo’ to be released on Friday 27th September

Tiny Ruins announce the release of ‘Olympic Girls Solo’, an acoustic recording of the widely acclaimed third album. Featuring Hollie Fullbrook’s arresting vocals and intricate guitar playing, the solo recordings reflect the sparse beauty of her earliest work. The album features some of Fullbrook’s most accomplished songwriting, recorded onto tape in whole live takes at Auckland’s Roundhead Studios.T The title track of Olympic Girls has been selected as a finalist in the 2019 APRA Silver Scroll Awards.

Hollie’s songs start their lives as simply crafted lyrics carried only by her guitar melodies and voice. These solo recordings preserve the power and vulnerability of the original incarnations, stripped of the rich, soaring arrangements that her band contribute. The album in its full-band release is undoubtedly one of Tiny Ruins’ finest. Intended as a companion piece rather than an alternative version, this solo release offers a special treat for the legions of Tiny Ruins fans who appreciate songcraft in its barest form.

Lontalius Announces NZ Tour

Last month, NZ songwriter Lontalius (Eddie Johnston) shared two new songs, – ‘I Wanted Him’ & ‘That Includes You’ produced alongside Grammy Award-winning Om’Mas Keith, who has worked with the likes of Erykah BaduJay-Z  and Frank Ocean.

Today, the now LA based singer-songwriter announces his NZ Tour with support from electronic post-punk-pop up-and-comer, October.

Lontalius – NZ Tour

Radio One 91FM and the 91 Club Present Lontalius
Friday October 5th – New New New Corp – Dunedin – FREE SHOW

Saturday October 6th – Caroline – Wellington

Friday October 12th – Anthology Lounge – Auckland

Tickets from http://lontalius.com

Lontalius says of the announcement, “I’m excited to be playing in NZ again – for a number of reasons. Mostly because I’ve never had a chance to give a real performance as Lontalius. The album release shows back in 2016 felt more like gallery openings – and if anyone saw me previously, we were probably just sitting on the floor of an empty bar stage playing casios.

“This time around I’ll be playing with a new band and plenty of new songs. So much of the music i’ve written over the past few years has lead to me thinking about playing songs on stage. It’s not something I’d thought about before, but the feeling I had in my bedroom of just wanting to put a song on soundcloud is pretty similar to just wanting to get out and perform it.

“Joining me on the tour will be October, who by all accounts should be the only name on anyones lips this year.”

RACING! LIQUID LIVERS! BEATCOMBER! POLISH CLUB announces supports for New Zealand shows!

Displaying

“As with previous dynamic duos Black Keys and White Stripes, you’re offered a soulful, howling vocalist/ guitarist (David Novak) and a hefty, no-frills drummer (John-Henry Pajak), the sound a punky retread of 60s R’n’B. Both men pledge allegiance to Stax/Motown, their soul moves refracted through a lens of their favourite garage rock bands: The Stooges and The Strokes.”

‘ALRIGHT ALREADY’
NZ SHOWS

Friday 30th June,
Whammy! Bar – AUCKLAND
with support from
RACING & LIQUID LIVERS

RACING is a swirling sea of groove and hypnosis. Think rock and roll anthems drenched in strange tropical dance music. They are an Auckland four piece that have managed to take rock and roll music and inject it with a chemical haze so ominous and dangerous that it leaves you feeling both pleased and punished.

Auckland based two-piece LIQUID LIVERS marries the big beat of TWO WOLVES to the scuzz groove of BLOODBAGS! Bass and drums, filling the space left to them, with as much good time evil rhythms as they can muster. Two’s company, there’s a crowd, one amp, cans and china, it can be just as loud.

Saturday 1st July,
Meow – WELLINGTON
with support from BEATCOMBER

Hailing from the Harbour City, BEATCOMBER are a self-credited lo-fi guitar garage pop band. The quirky five-friend lineup deliver super delayed sonic pop, infused with spasming psychedelia and distortion. Inspired by the likes of Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard,
