theSlacks have never been a band to shy away from a good time and it’s with this intent that they announce there forthcoming tour to promote the single and video release of Big Aroha.
‘The catchy bilingual [Big Aroha] is a feel good number pumped full of messages of unity, love, and community’ – stuff.co.nz
The track evokes the true spirit of kiwiana, is peppered with Te Reo and celebrates strong community ties. Big Aroha reflects the bands deep roots within Taranaki and wider NZ through the video for the single. We all remember 4Square stores, and hanging out on a summers day waiting for an ice cream., and it is here, set in Moturoa, New Plymouth that the rolling vibe originates… bringing you a laid back, feel good, folk-rock-ska combo, set to reinforce Aotearoa as a Slice of Heaven.
theSlacks (Scott Armstrong, Mark Armstrong, Blake Gibson & Zane Greig) have continued their DIY ethos since their formation in 1999, born of a desire not to join the gainfully employed, and have released two albums ‘Suppressed Inventions’ and ‘Welcome to the Rolling Vibe’ which they will revisit during their shows.
‘…being slack is about making time for all the important things in your life, cos everyone is so busy’ -theSlacks
