Girl Band Live at Vicar Street Out Today

In November 2019, following the release of long-awaited second album The TalkiesGirl Band played back to back sold-out shows in their hometown of Dublin at iconic venue Vicar Street. The shows were ferocious, equal parts chaotic, electrifying and intense. On Live at Vicar Street, their first ever live album, Girl Band has packaged their favourite songs from these two shows for a 14-track double LP which spans their entire repertoire.

“These shows were a really big deal for us,” explains Girl Band guitarist Alan Duggan. “We hadn’t played any shows for a good while before releasing The Talkies, and the home show is always the one you look forward to most. It was nice to properly document that experience”

Girl Band burst onto the scene in 2015 with their debut album Holding Hands with Jamie, stunning audiences with their furious, confrontational, visceral noise and singer Dara Kiely’s cleverly meandering screeds. The record won universal acclaim from outlets such as NPRRolling StonePitchforkNMEBillboardSPINMojoThe Guardian and more. Following a two-year hiatus, the group came together in late 2018 to record their follow-up, The Talkies, at Ballintubbert House, a stately manor on the outskirts of Dublin.

Girl Band are Dara Kiely (vocals), Daniel Fox (bass), Adam Faulkner (drums), Alan Duggan (guitar)
