Today, black midi reveal a new single/video, ‘Chondromalacia Patella,’ from their forthcoming album, Cavalcade, out next Friday, May 28th on Rough Trade. The third in a string of fervent singles, ‘Chondromalacia Patella,’ is a song about convalescence, aptly named after a band member’s knee injury from running. It features abrasive noise rock chords and circular drumming, which ultimately climax in a sunburst of arpeggiated guitars skyscraping above and beyond power metal. The accompanying video was directed by Vilhjálmur Yngvi Hjálmarsson.
