Two of the UK’s most exciting and original new acts, Ethan P. Flynn and Black Country, New Road have come together to record a live version of Flynn’s “Television Show“. The original version featured on Ethan P. Flynn’s debut mixtape – 2020’s highly acclaimed “B-Sides and Rarities Volume One” – and this live version is the first time Black Country, New Road have featured on an official Ethan P. Flynn release following a number of unofficial collaborations.

It’s another showcase of London based artist Flynn’s collaborative flair, having previously worked with artists as diverse as FKA twigs (co-writing and performing on three tracks on her MAGDALENE album), Vegyn, David Byrne, Jockstrap, Celeste and most recently Slowthai, who described Flynn as “someone who I consider to be as great as Bowie, I’m just waiting for the world to see it… He’s a legend in the making”. Meanwhile, Flynn was recently announced as part of the Dazed 100, Dazed’s “global celebration of next-gen names leading change in their communities and across their fields”

Ethan P. Flynn’s debut mixtape “B-Sides & Rarities Volume 1” is an evolving body of work featuring a collection of songs recorded between 2015 and 2018. Showcasing a deft songwriting flair and touching on musical inspirations that run the gamut from Sparklehorse to Madlib, Julia Holter to Danny Brown and Tom Waits, the collection first appeared via Bandcamp in 2019. The record’s next chapter saw Tokyo’s renowned Big Love Records pressing the album to vinyl at the start of 2020, exclaiming “A genius appears! The first hero of the 2020s!” Finally expanded to include four new songs – “Everybody’s Dying To Meet You”, “Are You Doing This To Hurt Me”, “What You Do To Me” and “When I Taste The Pavement” – it received a full global release via Young in September 2020. Ethan P. Flynn is currently working on new solo material.
