Last week, Everything Is RecordedRichard Russell’s collaborative artist project – returned with a new single “10:51PM / THE NIGHT” via XL Recordings and a subsequent Toby Ziegler-directed music video. It was the first new music in nearly two years from the London artist and producer whose eponymous 2018 debut album went on to be nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and was hailed by Q Magazine as “a masterclass in the art of collaboration”.

Alongside new collaborators Berwyn and Maria Somerville, we were dropped into 10:51PM on a Friday night, in the middle of that “anything can happen” feeling we’ve all experienced at the moment the working week becomes a hazy memory; that universal feeling of anticipation and excitement that fuels the start of the weekend.

On new Everything Is Recorded single “12:12AM / PATIENTS (FUCKING UP A FRIDAY)”, that Friday night is in full swing as things start to get even looser, even hazier. The story is narrated by a new set of collaborators as we’re joined by Mancunian sensation Aitch and New York siren Infinite Coles. Currently the UK’s biggest breakout star Aitch joins the Everything Is Recorded crew for the first time, while Infinite previously featured as a defining voice on Everything Is Recorded’s debut album.

“10:51PM / THE NIGHT” and “12:12AM / PATIENTS (FUCKING UP A FRIDAY)” are snapshots of a longer form story that will continue to reveal itself over the coming months, and an enticing glimpses of what to expect from Everything Is Recorded in 2020.
