Get into the festive spirit at the Avondale Kirihimete Market, a free afternoon and evening of kai, music, local makers and family-friendly fun, taking over Avondale Art Park on Saturday 28 November.
Bringing together the many cultures, flavours and creative talents of Avondale and beyond, the market promises something for everyone. Explore a vibrant food market packed with delicious kai, browse craft stalls for unique gifts and last-minute Christmas shopping, and soak up the festive atmosphere with live music and DJs throughout the day.
There’s plenty to keep the tamariki entertained, too, with free family-friendly crafting activities, and a very special festive treat for animal lovers: FREE dog portraits! A mobile dog portrait studio will be on site, giving visitors the chance to get a free portrait of their beloved pooch. And in the spirit of Kirihimete, four-legged friends are welcome to dress for the occasion, so bring out those Christmas bandanas, festive jumpers and seasonal accessories.
The Avondale Kirihimete Market is all about bringing people together. Whether you’re meeting friends, enjoying kai, discovering local makers or soaking up the music, it’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon and evening with the whole whānau.
The event is made possible with support from Auckland Council, Open Circle Markets, Avondale Business Association and Interesting Things.
