In October last year, Gabriel Garzón-Montano released his new album, Agüita, a collection of “tender acoustic ballads, silky R&B performance, and contemporary urbano swagger” (Pitchfork), via Jagjaguwar. The album was met with widespread acclaim, with TIME naming the album one of 2020’s best, stating Garzón-Montano as “an artist who understands his expertise while also pushing his bounds.”

Today, Garzón-Montano celebrates Agüita by releasing half.cool’s remix of ‘Mira My Look’, a reimagined version of the original featuring Venezuelan Andrekza – the first female artist signed to Steve Aoki’s Latin music label Dim Mak En Fuego.

The remix comes after Gabriel Garzón-Montano recently shared a brand new video for the original version of ‘Mira My Look’, directed by Sebas Coto (watch here).

On the ‘Mira My Look (half.cool Remix) feat. Andrekza’, Gabriel Garzón-Montano said:

“half.cool did the beat on the album. They went crazy with this remix. Andrekza is too funky. The way she vocalizes tickles my ankle bone. She added a gorgeous verse. I was like a little kid in the studio watching her process and started scribbling an alternate verse for the ending. Andrekza’s energy in the studio is a gift. Confidence and love.”

And Andrekza added:

“Being a part of Gabriel’s ‘Mira My Look’ remix is an honor. When he asked me to collaborate on this I didn’t think twice, after all, he’s fire and his look is crazy…’Cuesta Billete’ as he says on the song. LOL. It was a dream to work alongside Gabriel as an artist the (química) no se cómo dice en inglés. Was crazy at the studio and Gabriel inspired me in a lot of ways. Dressing up in Esteban Cortázar was a dream—what a magical moment being able to bring our worlds together.”
