Undoubtedly one of the decade’s most striking voices, Grammy Award-winning artist Baby Rose releases her stirring new single ‘Let Me Go’ and companion music video from her highly anticipated new album YEARNALISM, slated for release on July 10th via Secretly Canadian. The single brings to life the core theme of the album, the palpable nature of yearning through a confession of Rose’s own personal journey through sorrow and finding her way through it. Sonically, the track harkens back to an era that came before her and simultaneously is lined with her signature style that straddles multiple sonic realms and is carried through with her larger-than-life voice. The song comes to life with a music video directed by Amaya Segura shot in upstate New York that captures the holistic essence of the track with an analog touch sensibility and symbolism of nature that is present throughout YEARNALISM.

Baby Rose – ‘Let Me Go’ (Official Video)

YEARNALISM ushers in a new chapter for Rose that carries through her singular sound with a newly found evolution from a renewed sense of self. With a tone that feels lived-in and timeless, Rose pulls from soul, gospel, jazz, rock and R&B, infused with the spirits of the greats that defined the Muscle Shoals era and pivotal female artists that changed the face of music such as Etta James, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin and more, while grounding her sound firmly in the present. Her music is intimate and cinematic, the kind that lingers long after the last note fades.

The two previously released singles ‘But, Nvm’ and ‘Friends Again’ with Leon Thomas give a glimpse of the extraordinary sonic universe at the core of the album. The tracks have garnered large critical acclaim for their singular nature lauded by NPR, The New York Times, BET, HYPEBEAST, Billboard, ESSENCE, VIBE, Flood Magazine, COLORS, Rolling Stone en Español, MTV LATIN AMERICA, HOLA! and more. ‘Friends Again’ quickly became a commercial and critical triumph as her most successful release to date amassing over 14 millions total global streams to date. The track saw the duo unite once again following their joint Grammy wins for Leon’s MUTT album that won Best R&B Album and which featured their first scintillating collaboration on their track  ‘I USED TO’.
