Rochester-born, Atlanta-raised recording artist Jazz Ingram today shares ‘U Turn’, his second single to be on rising label b4. The single is available to buy and stream now on all partners.

On ‘U Turn’, Ingram turns visceral freestyles into cathartic rap therapy. “I was mad at life,” he explains, “screamed 4 freestyles and then called it a night.” The single is accompanied by raw visuals from NYC-based filmmaking collective Land of Tha Lost that see Jazz on a nighttime expedition across New York City. The single is the latest in a long run of collaborations between Ingram’s best friend and producer Your Friend, Kami who together spent recent years self-releasing succinct, 1 minute rap gems. ‘U Turn’ follows ‘Blue Gatorade’ as the second single to be released in partnership with 4AD imprint label b4, an emerging label dubbed “a solid spot for forward-thinking hip hop and R&B” by CLASH Magazine.

Born the son of a poet in Rochester, NY, Jazz Ingram’s proficiency with words developed at a young age. Moving with his immediate family to Atlanta, one Jazz’s earliest exposures to rap was via his cousin Audra the Rapper who encouraged him to rap over preset beats. Uploading his first single at the age of 15 – entitled ‘Make Em Bounce’ – helped build Jazz a small but devoted online following. After meeting his production partner Your Friend, Kami, Jazz’s work rate increased to a track per day, with sharp, one minute productions being fired onto his Soundcloud. Now, with two EPs of playful and weird rap singles under his belt, Jazz cements himself as one of rap’s most exciting new voices.
