Acclaimed Swedish-Argentinian singer-songwriter José González will return to New Zealand in March 2027, marking his first New Zealand tour since 2106.

The tour follows the release of his fifth studio album, Against The Dying Of The Light, which was released on 27 March 2026. Exploring the accelerating development of artificial intelligence, technological responsibility and the challenges facing humanity, the album pairs González’s signature fingerpicked guitar and understated vocals with a more urgent lyrical edge, while maintaining his enduring sense of melody, intimacy and hope.

Audiences can expect a captivating live experience spanning González’s acclaimed catalogue, including beloved tracks ‘Heartbeats‘ and ‘Crosses‘, alongside music from his latest release.

The New Zealand tour begins at Meow Nui, Wellington, on Tuesday, 2 March, continuing to Te Paepae Theatre – NZICC, Auckland on Wednesday, 3 March, and concluding at Isaac Theatre Royal, Christchurch, on Thursday, 4 March.

With his distinctive guitar playing, timeless songwriting and an acclaimed new album, José González’s 2027 return promises an unmissable series of performances across New Zealand.
