London-based multidisciplinary artist and producer Lancer shares his new single ‘Nobody’ via XL Recordings. Moving fluidly between trap, experimental indie rock, and ’80s-inspired pop, Lancer’s music pairs unexpected sonic turns with an instinctive feel for classic pop songwriting and emotionally charged arrangements. Lancer – ‘Nobody’
Following a breakout run of releases this year, Lancer has quickly established himself as one of the UK underground’s most compelling emerging voices. His signing to XL Recordings arrived alongside ‘2late,’ a synth-pop jam, and ‘Hearts,’ a downcast acoustic offering that revealed a more vulnerable side to an artist first introduced through the ultra-emotional, ’80s-sampling rap tracks ‘Cry’ and ‘Southpaw.’ With ‘Nobody,’ Lancer continues to expand his sound, further blurring the lines between rap, alternative music, and pop.
Lancer’s growing profile has earned early recognition from The Guardian, Pigeons & Planes, and DAZED, with the latter naming him among the artists proving the UK underground is “still alive and well.” Pigeons & Planes also featured him in its Best New Artists of Summer 2026 list, describing him as “a true original in the spirit of the UK’s finest innovators.”
Lancer’s live US debut will be at rising underground festival And Always Forever next month on November 7. An artist whose work extends across music, production, and visuals, Lancer continues to carve out a world entirely his own.
