Best of 2021 Praise for Home Video:

“??Lucy Dacus’s wrenching third studio album [Home Video] is as much an achievement of memoir as it is of songwriting.” – The New York Times, Best Albums of 2021

“[On Home Video,] Dacus takes us through park benches, basements, and bunk beds, crafting gems about teenage heartbreak and friendship that make for the greatest songwriting of her career.” – Rolling Stone, #5 in Best Albums of 2021

“When captivating stories become memorable songs, that’s the perfect formula for a great record. . . This sort of complexity is the brilliance of Home Video.” NPR Music, #3 in Best Albums of 2021

“In these quietly unspooling songs, Dacus lifts scenes straight from her journals and renders them anew with poetic sensuality” – Pitchfork, The 31 Best Rock Albums of 2021

“The best lyrics aren’t just beautifully poetic or descriptive, but also conjure a whole universe that lies just beyond them and out of reach. . .  Lucy Dacus is a master at this craft” TIME, #4 in Best Songs of 2021

“Some of the year’s best musical storytelling lived in the Virginia songwriter’s third record, her writing newly amplified by subtle hints of pop propulsion and grit that evoked how Elliott Smith expanded his sound” – The Guardian, #48 in 50 Best Albums of 2021

“Placing the musician’s lulling vocals at the spearhead, the indie-folk guitar hooks and candid yet comical lyricism is a warming listen that proves to be relatable to all of us in one way or another” – Line Of Best Fit, #34 in 50 Best Albums of 2021
