Pavement this week, broke their silence after a few months of teasing with confirmed news of a double LP – The Secret History Vol. 1, which will be out August 7 (NZ/AUS) + August 11 US/UK on Matador.
It will be the first in the series of five compilation albums, comprised of 30 tracks – 25 of which will be available on vinyl for the first time ever, from the Slanted and Enchanted era (1990-1992).
The deluxe double LP will come with essays by Stephen Malkmus, Spiral Stairs, Matador Records, Billions Corporation and Drag City bosses, plus a stunning gatefold designed by Rob Carmichael, who has worked previously with the likes of Animal Collective and Dirty Projectors.
