“When it comes to grunge or even just Seattle, I think there was one band that made the definitive music of the time. It wasn’t us or Nirvana, but Mudhoney. Nirvana delivered it to the world, but Mudhoney were the band of that time and sound.” – Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam)
The legendary Seattle four-piece return to New Zealand this October and November for their first tour of the country in over a decade, with tickets also selling fast for Tauranga and Raglan, and Auckland now more than 50% sold.

Since forming in 1988, Mudhoney quickly became the flagship act for legendary independent label Sub Pop, releasing more than 25 official releases across a career spanning nearly four decades. Their provocative debut single ‘Touch Me I’m Sick‘ and breakthrough anthem ‘Suck You Dry‘ helped define the sound of the late-’80s and early-’90s grunge movement, influencing countless bands and forever changing the course of alternative rock.
Still showing no signs of slowing down, the band released their acclaimed eleventh studio album, Plastic Eternity, in 2023, proving their raw energy, razor-sharp songwriting and uncompromising attitude remain as vital as ever.
“Mudhoney are still not trading on legacy; they’re still a dangerous, mosh-pit-commanding rock band.” – Pitchfork
