News: Wairpaint debut album "The Fool" released this October

1 min read

LA four-piece Warpaint are set to release their debut album The Fool the 25th of October in New Zealand through Rough Trade/Rhythmethod.

Weaving intricate guitar lines, hypnotic vocals and driving post-punk rhythms into gorgeous, sprawling songs that skirt the line between the soundscapes of psychedelia and intimacy.

Recorded in a gym in LA, The Fool was produced and mixed by Tom Biller (Liars, Jon
Brion, Sean Lennon), with further mixes from Andrew Weatherall (New Order, Primal Scream, Bjork) and Adam Samuels (John Frusciante, Daniel Lanois). The album follows their Exquisite Corpse EP, released in 2009, which got significant local community radio play and praise.

The xx have hand-picked Warpaint to support them on their September/October tour of the US. Over the last twelve months the band has also toured with Yeasayer, Band of Horses and The Walkmen.

Warpaint are Emily Kokal (vocals/guitar), Theresa Wayman (guitar/vocals), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass/vocals) and Stella Mozgawa (drums).
