Montreal-based, St. Vincent-born artist Skiifall shares a new collaborative single ‘Break of Dawn’ featuring acclaimed Canadian jazz ensemble BADBADNOTGOOD via XL Recordings. With production duties handled by The Kount, Yama//Sato, and BADBADNOTGOOD and additional vocals on the track from Sam I Am and ad libs by Zibz, ‘Break of Dawn’ marks the most overtly reggae-influenced song of the emerging artist’s catalog that has explored the sounds of the African diaspora over the course of his releases to date and builds upon the EP’s atmospheric and melodic instrumentalism to bring forth an uplifting jazz-infused anthem.

With his 2020 debut single ‘Ting Tun Up,’ a track that The FADER called “one great debut single,” Skiifall firmly marked his place on the global music stage. He followed that single up with ‘Bentayga Dust,’ dealing with the duality between peace and discord, the song puts the potency in Skiifall’s singular style on display.

Finding fans in the likes of the late Virgil Abloh, Jorja Smith, OVO’s Oliver El-Khatib and Amaarae, Skiifall is rapidly consolidating his reputation as one of global hip hop’s most disruptive burgeoning forces. As inspired by the bashment of his St. Vincent homeland as he is the postmodern Atlanta icon Young Thug, Skiifall’s multifaceted output is representative of a musical DNA that crosses cultural boundaries.
