‘ANIMAL’ shares the raw, yet meticulous sonic qualities of The Center Won’t Hold, making for a visceral, cathartic and intense listen. The band’s piercing guitar and signature vocals are front and centre, while lyrically it releases a host of pent up emotions. Corin Tucker (guitar/vocals), explains, “ANIMAL is a song about rebellion, retaliation and rage. It is a song about letting go of all politeness and filters and letting the ‘animal’ side speak. The vocals for this song were recorded in St. Vincent’s home studio, a perfect place to unleash a voice like this.” ‘ANIMAL’ follows the release of their critically acclaimed new album, The Center Won’t Hold, produced by St. Vincent.
