“it’s a big world out there (and i am scared)” is the new digital and 12? vinyl EP from Kurt Vile and The Violators, out on November 15th via Matador / Rhythmethod, with six of the seven tracks previously unreleased.
The EP was recorded during the same sessions as the latest album and doubles as the bonus content for the newly announced 2xCD and digital album version of Wakin On A Pretty Daze: Deluxe Daze (Post Haze), also out in Australia on November 15th.

bEEdEEgEE is the performing alias of Brian DeGraw, an American artist, musician and producer who lives and works between the inner city and the Catskill region of New York state. Most commonly known in the world for his work at the centre of Gang Gang Dance and their musical mastery, SUM/ONE is his debut record as a solo artist.
Written and recorded over the course of a year in his Woodstock studio, the W0RMB1N, SUM/ONE fuses deep synth soundscapes with audacious pop moments. The nine tracks that comprise SUM/ONE also feature the vocal talents of Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Lovefoxxx (CSS), Lizzi Bougatsos (Gang Gang Dance) and Douglas Armour.
SUM/ONE will be released on CD, vinyl and digitally on December 3rd. The album track “Bricks” can be heard HERE. bEEdEEgEE will be playing his first live shows with Animal Collective on their North American Winter Tour.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE NEW ALBUM + SINGLE
Queens Of The Stone Age has confirmed May 31st as the Australian release date for its sixth studio album … Like Clockwork on Matador Records / Rhythmethod.
The band has also unveiled the new album’s stunning artwork by UK artist Boneface.
… Like Clockwork’s release is preceded by first single “My God Is The Sun,” which received its recent live debut in Queens Of The Stone Age’s Lollapalooza Brazil set.

HOUNDMOUTH ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM & SINGLE
Houndmouth will release their anticipated debut album From Hills Below The City on Friday 31 May via Rough Trade / Rhythmethod.

Houndmouth is comprised of four musicians from New Albany, Indiana US, across the river from Louisville – hence From the Hills Below the City. Matt Myers (guitar/vocals), Katie Toupin (keyboard/vocals), Zak Appleby (bass/vocals) and Shane Cody (drums/vocals) spent the past yearbuilding a passionate following in their hometown and touring with the Alabama Shakes, the Lumineers, Grace Potter, and the Drive-By Truckers. “Houndmouth is a great young band,” testifies Patterson Hood of the Truckers. “They ‘brought it’ each and every night. They were extremely popular with our fanbase and our band. I look forward to hearing what they do next”.
The 12 original songs on From The Hills Below the City are packed with tales of down-on-their-luck drug runners, casinos,riverboats, recession-era scraping, and more. All members of Houndmouth sing, “leading with individual character and harmonizing in saloon-choir empathy,” writes Rolling Stone’s David Fricke, and their songs have a loose-limbed swing, anchored by a sturdy rhythm and a cagey melodic sensibility.
Houndmounth’s appearance at SXSW resulted in national coverage on NBC Rock Center, Fuse News, and Rolling Stone.

MAJICAL CLOUDZ ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM + FREE MP3S
Majical Cloudz will release their new album Impersonator on Friday 24 May via Matador / Rhythmethod.
For the past few years, Devon Welsh has been recording solo material composed between rural Ontario and Montreal, and collaborating in production & performance with Matthew Otto under the guise Majical Cloudz.
Impersonator’s expressive power and swagger belie its extremely minimal music. These are intensely lyrical songs about death, patience, family, friendship and desire, with Welsh’s rich vocals atop Matthew Otto Kolaitis’ quiet looped waves of white noise, filtered synths and sparse thuds.
Majical Cloudz’ Devon Welsh explains of Impersonator:
In the last few years there’s been a massive explosion of amazing music made with computers, samplers and other electronic equipment. The possibilities became nearly endless and musicians indulged those possibilities. I love that kind of music but it also started to overwhelm me. I wasn’t cut out for the maximalist expressions of that style. So I took a break from music, and when I started again it was to make music that barely existed and felt like stillness more than movement. Where the songs could be more about humanness. I love all forms of electronic music, techno, house, rave, hip-hop, but I never want to feel like the music I’m making is just about stylistic play. The easiest way for me to do that is try to make something without obvious movement; where the music isn’t overstuffed sonically or referentially, it’s emptied out as much as possible. So the vision for Impersonator was to communicate a lot with as little as possible. It’s not meant to energize and turn you out to the world, it’s meant to do the opposite; it’s more like a cocoon.

SAVAGES ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM + NEW SINGLE
Savages will release their debut album Silence Yourself on Friday 3 May 2013 via Pop Noire / Matador / Rhytmethod
Available on LP, CD and download, the album was recorded in north-west London’s Fish Factory during a three week period in December 2012, and was produced by Johnny Hostile and Rodaidh McDonald.
Clocking in at 38 minutes, Silence Yourself opens with an excerpt from the John Cassavetes film ‘Opening Night’, and features brand new recordings of ‘Husbands’, ‘I Am Here’ and ‘City’s Full’ – first heard on debut single ‘Husbands / Flying To Berlin’ and the ‘I Am Here’ live EP. Both tracks were previously released on singer Jehnny Beth’s record label Pop Noire.
Silence Yourself comprises of eleven tracks that are uncompromising and delivered with fierce conviction.
The album is available to pre-order from iTunes now, and fans who do so will instantly receive an mp3 download of ‘She Will’.
