Blonde Redhead are the sixth band to record as part of the 4AD Session series. Shot at Integrated Studios in Tribeca, New York on 11th August 2010, the session is the first to be filmed in America.
Joined by Henrik Von Sivers, who worked on new album Penny Sparkle as one half of production duo Van Rivers and The Subliminal Kid, the session sees the band offer striking interpretations of several standout tracks from the album. With sparse lighting helping furnish a suitably ethereal ambience, the band showcase their emotionally resonant music in an environment more intimate than fans may be accustomed to. View the full five song set at the 4AD Session website HERE.
Blonde Redhead tour the US throughout November before coming to play for us at Laneway Festival Jan 31st. After which they will join up with Deerhunter and Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti for two 4AD curated shows in Japan in January next year. More details HERE.

VSAD005:
“Here Sometimes”
“Love Or Prison”

The 4AD sessions are a dedicated home for exclusive live sessions from artists on the label, allowing them to also perform new material, alternate versions and back-catalogue covers.
New album Penny Sparkle is out now on tastefully packaged CD and yummy black, vinyl LP too on 4AD / Rhythmethod in NZ.
