After premiering on BBC Radio 1 with Huw Stephens last night, Pixx has shared her new single ‘Grip’ and the accompanying video directed by James Slater.

Taken from her debut album, scheduled for released in early 2017, ‘Grip’ follows previous single ‘Baboo’ in further expanding the sonic palette of 21 year-old Hannah Rodgers. She says “we go through life facing backwards, moving forwards without a clue what is in front of us. I lost myself in this concept.”. The track is presented alongside a gravity-defying video created by James Slater and Natasha Lawes, the same team behind the dream-like visuals for ‘Baboo’.

Hannah Rodgers hails from Chipstead, just beyond the fringes of south London, England, where suburban sprawl starts to break into countryside. Born to a music-loving family, her creative talents were recognised early on, earning her a place at The BRIT School, the renowned performing arts college located near her home. Inspired by the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Aphex Twin, Rodgers has adopted her grandmother’s nickname Pixx and is ready to make her mark.
