Kane Strang has unveiled the official video for his new single, “Oh So You’re Off I See,” via FLOOD. The video was filmed over one day in Central Otago in Strang’s home country of New Zealand. The location was chosen for its natural environment and big, industrial man-made structures. It shares the same contrasting elements as the video. Different colors and cuts of glass were used to create a distorted effect that, combined with the surrounding landscape, achieved a strange, moving collage. Additional performance footage was shot the night before at the band’s practice space in Dunedin, the Attic.

“Oh So You’re Off I See” is the first single from Strang’s forthcoming album due out later this year on Dead Oceans. Strang has moved away from the bedroom and into the studio taking a more collaborative approach to recording and writing with his band. The four-piece twists Strang’s melodies upside down and pushes his hooks inside out.

Strang’s North American tour kicks off this Friday, March 3rd at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn and takes him to Savannah Stopover, SXSW, Treefort, and more. Strang’s initial SXSW schedule has also been announced. These are his first shows ever outside of New Zealand.
