To celebrate its 15th anniversary, XL Recordings are set to reissue The Prodigy’s seminal album ‘The Fat Of The Land’. The album will be reissued by XL Recordings on 7th December and will be available as the original double LP, CD and download, plus deluxe double CD and deluxe digital editions
Originally released in 1997, ‘The Fat Of The Land’ was an instant critical and commercial hit, entering both the UK and US album charts at number 1 and subsequently shooting to number 1 in 24 countries around the world. In doing so, The Prodigy became only the eighth British band in history to enter at the top of the US albums chart, following the likes of The Beatles and Depeche Mode in such an achievement. ‘The Fat Of The Land’ sold over a million copies worldwide in its first week, reaching the 10 million sales mark within just eighteen months.
What’s remarkable about an album that so clearly and instantly defined its time is just how vital it still sounds fifteen years on. ‘The Fat Of The Land”s influence is as strong as ever, particularly reflected in the current explosion of electronic music on radio playlists around the world. To mark this fifteenth anniversary release, the band have handpicked a group of artists to remix key tracks off the album, including Noisia, Alvin Risk, Zeds Dead, Baauer, The Glitch Mob and Major Lazer. All deluxe versions of the album will feature all six remixes.
