Today 1010 Benja SL releases new single ‘Dobby’ via Young Turks. A love song, a ride or die anthem written for his partner and the first track from a new body of work, ‘Dobby’ perfectly showcases 1010 Benja SL’s modern soulful sound.
1010 Benja SL debuted his new material via Dazed & Confused’s IG live #Alonetogether service on Easter Sunday; a raw, singular, live-streamed performance direct from his home. Having seemingly come out of nowhere to release his delightfully perplexing single ‘Boofiness’ in 2017, 1010 Benja SL immediately earned much curiosity and critical acclaim. Followed by the sweeping 2018 single ‘Wind Up Space’ and the six-track ‘Two Houses’ EP, 1010 Benja SL continued the direct yet perplexing sound he was cultivating.
With ‘Dobby’, 1010 Benja SL’s journey has evolved to shed some of the ambiguity and reveal himself to the world.

Growing up around the mega-churches of Tulsa, a city still healing from the traumas of the destruction of Black Wall Street, 1010 Benja SL took form from the unique history and crossroads of cultures in his home city. His musical beginnings in midwestern rock bands led to years of displacement & busking in New York – these experiences define 1010 Benja SL’s new body of work.
