Aldous Harding shares the official video for her song ‘Tick Tock’. The surreal animated short was directed by Harding and Chris McD, with the latter responsible for animation and design.
‘Tick Tock’ is taken from the NZ No. 1 album, Warm Chris, the latest album from Aldous Harding which also features the singles ‘Fever’ and ‘Lawn’. The New Zealander’s fourth studio album reunited her with producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Tracy Chapman, Eels, Sparklehorse), continuing a professional partnership that began in 2017 and has forged pivotal bodies of work (2017’s Partyand 2019’s Designer). All ten tracks were recorded at Rockfield Studios and includes contributions from H. Hawkline, Seb Rochford, Gavin Fitzjohn, John and Hopey Parish and Jason Williamson (Sleaford Mods).
Aldous Harding’s month-long US tour begins in June with support from H. Hawkline. Later this summer she will perform at a handful of European festivals (Øya, Way Out West, All Points East, End of the Road and more) as well as a one-off headline show at Glasgow’s City Halls. Harding’s UK and European tour takes place in the northern hemisphere Spring of 2023. A full list of tour dates can be found below, for further information head to aldousharding.com/live
Aotearoa/New Zealand shows are to be announced at a later date.

“A sparse and oblique album whose gentle psychedelic folk and beguiling free association proudly resist interpretation.”
Pitchfork, Best New Music
“As with all things Aldous Harding, it’s a dazzling performance. Expect the ovations for her to echo down the years.”
MOJO’s Album of the Month ****
“Riveting…Harding’s songs can feel like impressions, with singing that extends from a wraithlike whisper to a low-toned croon.”
New Yorker
“Defiantly peculiar, venture into her total immersion world and one must accept that there is no map.”
Uncut’s Album of the Month
“There’s a buoyancy to Warm Chris … and a sense of play as Harding rolls those words and phonics around every corner of her mouth.”
The Guardian (UK)
“an album covering the complex and enigmatic voices of a supremely singular talent.”
Clash 9/10
“Warm Chris is a marvel to behold and a joy to listen to”
Under The Radar 8.5/10
“Its complexities mean that each listen holds new revelations, the record growing richer and richer over time.”
NME 4/5
“As much a great musician as she is an illusionist who dazzles the listener.”
DIY ****
‘Warm Chris’, is — like the singer herself — full of magic”
Matthew Crawley – VIVA, NZ Herald
“Warm Chris is as confident as all Harding’s records, but feels more comfortable, as though she has shrugged off any niggling self-doubt. It looks likely to drastically increase her popularity”
Alex Behan – Sunday Star Times/Stuff.co.nz
“Warm Chris is a kind of pop apotheosis…confirms her place as a singular artist and an international star in music’s left field.”
Graham Reid – Listener
“Aldous Harding beguiles us with her fluid, never-tiring transformations. She continues to prove herself as a genius in songwriting; showing transparency, yet casting enough of a shadow to keep our imagination alight. “
Carla Camilleri – Flying Nun
“..perfectly rendered and beautifully moulded. The work of a true artist.”
James Belfield – Waiheke Weekender
“Aldous Harding serves up another round of sonic specialties…”
Marty Duda – 13th Floor
“At its core, like David Byrne in his big suit or David Bowie playing harlequin, Harding’s is a grounded eccentricity, rooted in the traditions of avant-garde theater and folk music while still retaining a welcoming sense of play…An offbeat, infectious and ultimately liberating invitation to stop making sense.”
New York Times
“To follow Harding into this uncanny world is to feel both held and adrift: safe in the company of a skilled navigator who won’t tell you where we’re going, or how she aims to take us there, or how close to the waterfall she plans on steering the boat.”
