“Up the rivers rise, down the shadows fall,
what we thought was free, isn’t free at all.”
Today Estère shares her striking new single ‘Pro Bono Techno Zone’ accompanied by a powerful, self-choreographed music video directed by Paascalino Schaller.
The track will feature on her forthcoming release, My Design, Part 1 set to drop digitally on Friday 13th October via DRM NZ. My Design is part one of a new, interconnected body of work, due to be released later as a two-part album. This new material was self-written, recorded and produced by Estère over the last few years between touring the UK, Africa and Europe.
Completely self-produced by the Empress of Electric Blue Witch-Hop herself, ‘Pro Bono Techno Zone’ is a track that is a slave to the rhythm, as much as a commentary on those who are a slave to technology.
“We are bound to technology like never before,” Estère alludes. “Perhaps it is with both optimism and incipient doom that we can consider the consequences of our freedom to use devices.”
Sit back behind your screen, and watch Estère dance in striking stop-motion, over the top of that memorable chorus, electric rollicking drum beat and meaty bass line. Watch the video here or below.
