The prolific San Francisco-based electronic artist, Holly Herndon is set to release her first new album under 4AD, Platform on 15th May (NZ/AUS) / 18th-19th May (US/UK).
Alongside the news of this highly anticipated release, Herndon has today unveiled a music video for the album’s opening track “Interference”. The video was directed by long-time creative collaborators Metahaven, who were responsible for designing Platform‘s striking album artwork (see the front cover).

Platform is the outcome of Herdon’s willingness to involve various artists and thinkers from her creative circles in her creative process, including digital DIY artist Mat Dryhurst, to approach a range of topics like “systemic inequality, surveillance states, and neo-feudalism”. Herdon currently studies as a doctoral candidate at Stanford’s Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), and has become a leading source in contemporary alternative and electronic music through her experimentation with dance music and popular songwriting structures.
