When she was just seven-years-old, Jamaica-raised, Kansas City-based singer-songwriter Treanne dreamed that she would one day go to America and become a star. Just over a decade later, her soulful voice and striking lyricism caught the attention of Young (Sampha, The xx, FKA twigs, Kamasi Washington), who will release her debut EP 20/20, out May 10th. Treanne will join Sampha on his upcoming U.S. tour, which kicks off in Miami on Tuesday, March 26th, in which she’ll perform the songs from her latest EP. Full list of dates below.
Last month Treanne subtly released the project’s first single ‘Please,’ to which The FADER noted that “Treanne sings with a world-weariness beyond her years” and WONDERLAND described as a “stripped-back piece of sonic delicacy, laying her show-stopping vocals out for all to hear.”
Here the artist accompanies the announcement of her debut EP, 20/20, with Young, with a bold new single and music video titled ‘Sharing My Body.’ WATCH HERE.

On ‘Sharing My Body,’ Treanne explains, “this song is about the feeling of betraying yourself at the hands of another person.” She elaborates further, “I was mad about the situationship I was in. I was mad that he felt the need to check up on me, then disappear. I was mad that he wanted to sext but not actually talk. It’s about not knowing when to give up because sometimes the pain can feel like love too.”
On 20/20, Treanne explores the transition from adolescence into adulthood, and the realization of all the ways that life can hurt you. On stand-out tracks like ‘Sharing My Body’ and ‘It’s Ur Birthday’ she explores intimacy, love, longing and boundaries in relationships. ‘Reasons’ she co-wrote with Jack Penate in London, on a lunch break from the studio. 20/20 is a stunning and confident introduction to Treanne, who will undoubtedly be an artist-to-watch in 2024.
