Jai Wolf aka Sajeeb Saha has unveiled the official video for his break-out single, “Indian Summer”. Since its release, “Indian Summer” has taken over the world, racking up tens of millions of streams, a major GoPro ad campaign, appearing on American Idol, and becoming a Gold Single in Australia.
The success of “Indian Summer,” a track that leans more indie than EDM, was the catalyst to a major change in Jai Wolf’s perspective. He decided to ditch the drops and focus on crafting songs with depth, with meaning and melody. “Indian Summer” was also the first time Sajeeb “ever tried sampling South Asian music. I had no expectations. I thought it was a strange, weird song.”
“Indian Summer” is taken from Jai Wolf’s Kindred Spirits EP, out now on Pod via Inertia Music.
Sajeeb was originally born in Bangladesh, but has spent the majority of his life in the U.S. He’s always been fascinated by how music is portrayed through a visual medium, and he’s noticed that throughout his life the majority of lead roles in music videos are played by white actors. He wanted to have the lead actor be representative of him as someone who’s Bangladeshi so he enlisted Indian actor Assad Keval to play the lead role.
