We toured the world for over 18 months, when global restrictions just started to slowly lift through the long anticipated end of regulations,” says Khruangbin.
“From our vantage point, to watch people come together through song and dance after a time of unified isolation was truly a spiritual experience. To watch and hear audiences sing along to the songs we released during the pandemic and to feel so loved and well received was unquantifiable. We wanted to find a way to hallmark this journey and decided to do so through a series of live releases that also commemorate the artists who performed with us, as well as the artwork and photography from those shows. It was and is truly a time to remember.”
Each album will be released on standard art black LP, exclusive limited art black LP and digitally. The exclusive LP versions will only be available via Secretly Store website and at record stores in the market each album was recorded.
Known for their marriage of sounds from across the world – including “a mix of R&B, reggae, surf rock, Middle Eastern melodies, Persian phrasing, Latin rhythms, ’90s hip-hop, West African instrumentation, ethereal harmonies, psychedelic effects and rump-shaking disco,” says Vanity Fair— Khruangbin has been on countless global tours, and graced nearly every major festival stage in the world including Glastonbury, Primavera, Coachella, & more. A tried and true touring band, Khruangbin embarked on their most monumental tour to date in 2022 which included multiple sold out nights at LA’s Greek Theatre, NYC’s Radio City Music Hall and a legendary performance at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace. As their own live show grows a steadfast following, the band has been equally committed to showcasing their favorite musicians with an effervescent palate highlighting a diverse repertoire of touring-mates.
Alongside these ground-breaking touring accomplishments, Khruangbin recently collaborated with Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré on a collaborative album honoring Vieux’s late father, Ali Farka Touré which was highlighted everywhere from The New York Times and NPR (“labyrinthine fusion of dub, blues and Malian grooves,”), to GQ who says “there’s a placelessness to the band Khruangbin that, counterintuitively, gives them their gravity.” The band also released their second collaborative EP with Leon Bridges, in 2022, the sultry, chart-topping Texas Moon, which garnered award nominations and widespread critical acclaim from The New York Times, NPR, Uproxx, Vulture, FADER and more while pushing the boundaries of R&B.
