LNZNDRF – the trio of Ben Lanz, Bryan Devendorf and Scott Devendorf – release their new video for ‘Samarra’ from their self-titled debut album today. Artist/director C.E.B. Reas created an algorithm that distorts live footage of the group into a black and white psychedelic haze.
LNZNDRF’s eponymously-titled album is rock minimalism meets sonic maximalism and is out now. Formed five years ago in Auckland, New Zealand, LNZNDRF (pronounced ‘Lanzendorf’) recorded the eight-track long-player over two and half days in a church in Cincinnati, Ohio. The songs, edited down from 30+ minute jams, evoke the essence of their expansive, largely improvised live shows.
