Canadian indie pop maverick Majical Cloudz head out on tour over September across North America with NZ star Lorde, having been personally selected after Ella Yelich-O’Connor witnessed their “intensely emotional and raw” live show.
Ahead of these dates (below), Majical Cloudz share a re-working of their track ‘Savage‘ by fellow Canadian electronic producer Tim Hecker.
In an indepth interview with Billboard, frontman Devon Welsh says “I thought it was cool to have a noise musician or a sound artist do something with the song. I liked it because it’s not done in a dance music style — there’s no element of remixing it in the way that that word has traditionally been used.”
While the Majical Cloudz name may imply a youthful airiness to the project, Devon Welsh (joined on the road by producer, Matthew Otto), brings a profound and poetic presence to his music that is best experienced live (forthcoming dates below).
