Makeness Shares “Day Old Death” (DJ Python Remix)

Listen Here

Following the release of “Day Old Death,” the latest single from Secretly Canadian artist Makeness, aka Kyle Molleson, comes a serene new remix for the track by versatile New York-based producer DJ Python.

“Day Old Death,” off Makeness’ forthcoming debut album due out later this year, is a scuzzy, big-room composition that builds on Molleson’s spectral vocal and pensive, driving electronica. Stereogum described the single as highlighting “Molleson’s knack for fluid transitions, looping its way from a four-note foundation into a symphony of dark hums.”

The “Day Old Death” edit by DJ Python, known for releases on some of New York’s most interesting labels (BANK, Exotic Dance Records and Proibito.), follows the release of his eight-track LP, Dulce Compania, on Anthony Naples’ new imprint Incienso, which was lauded for its r

eggaeton-inspired deep house sensibility. Both pulsing and airy, the new remix for “Day Old Death” channels a similar kind of smoky ambient romanticism to Python’s LP.

Following his recent support slot with Jungle on their North American tour, Makeness returns to the London club circuit this January with his second Loud Patterns party, where he’ll be playing alongside London based Whities signee Reckonwrong. Following the club nights debut at Five Miles last September, the two artists will DJ alongside Neatguy 100 at The White Hart in New Cross on 26th Jan.
