Master Peace, the alternative maverick taking the UK by storm, today shares his much anticipated debut album How To Make A Master Peace, via PMR. On a mission to shake up the UK independent music landscape, and inject some anarchic mischief along the way, Master Peace is a burst of energy, redefining what a superstar can mean today – the critically acclaimed record is the culmination of all of Master Peace’s incredible talent and hard work.
Produced by Matt Schwartz, Julian Bunetta and Matt Zara, Master Peace says of the record, “The last few months gearing up to release my debut album have been relentless, dropping new music every few weeks – I’m really excited for everyone to hear the whole thing. Album of the year? I hope so. I think it stands up as a cohesive and fresh piece of work and it sounds great live, having tested it on the road with The Streets and Bilk as well as my last headline tour. I definitely know which tracks are crowd favourites! I just cannot wait to see a room full of maniacs going nuts to GET NAUGHTY ! and all of the other anthems. It’s definitely going to be one to remember.”
It has been an incredible album campaign for Master Peace, in which all press shots and artwork are lensed by iconic photographer Ewen Spencer. Over singles ‘I Might Be Fake (feat Georgia)’ and ‘Start You Up’, he has won playlist slots on BBC Radio 1, and has been named Rough Trade’s album of the month for March. Support has come from the likes of Rolling Stone UK, Dork, NME and more, and following support slots for The Streets and Genesis Owusu, Peace will play his own headline tour to his dedicated fanbase this month.
Speaking about the album in more depth, Master Peace says, “My debut album, How To Make A Master Peace, is definitely the most alternative body of work I’ve created to date. I wanted to create a record people wouldn’t expect from me. From a musical standpoint, I drew influences from Indie Sleaze & Indie Dance acts such as Friendly Fires, Justice, LCD Soundsystem and early Calvin Harris. But beyond this, I also found inspiration in the soundtracks to some of my favourite shows: Skins, Misfits & even Waterloo Road. All of these shows touch on adolescence, love, regret, friendship, culture and character building; which also happen to be the main themes of the album. Even though I’ve nodded to these topics before, I’ve never approached them in such depth and with so much vulnerability. For this project, I wanted to create a soundscape to soundtrack nightlife and partying – for me, these can be youthful yet transformational spaces. In terms of my creative process, I didn’t use any old demos on the project – I started each track from scratch.”

About Master Peace…
Growing up in Surrey, Master Peace – real name Peace Okezie – fell deep into the world of indie music, where Bloc Party, The 1975 and Arctic Monkeys quickly became his heroes. Peace spent his teen years at house parties and raves, forming a close circle of fellow ravers whose friendship continues to inspire and inform his music to this day. To Peace, the strength and depth of this platonic love between friends is the core pillar of positive modern masculinity in 2023. To date, Master Peace has released three EPs, and received praise from the likes of NME, Clash, The Face, Wonderland, and been championed by multiple DJs at BBCR1 including Clara Amfo, Vick & Jordan, and Jack Saunders.
