Munich-born producer, songwriter, Mechatok and Swedish pop icon Robyn join forces for a new two-track remix release, Mechatok’s breakout hit ‘Expression On Your Face (Robyn Remix)’ feat. Ecco2k & Bladee and Robyn’s ‘Fembot (Mechatok Remix)’.
Robyn & Mechatok – Fembot (Mechatok Remix)
Robyn steps into Mechatok’s ‘Expression On Your Face’, adding a verse that threads her unmistakable voice through the track’s glossy, massive production. One of pop’s most influential voices meets one of its most forward-thinking producers, whose work ranges from Drain Gang to Charli XCX to Lorenzo Senn — nudging the original toward a more pop-facing sensibility without losing what made it one of the most-loved underground bangers of 2025. Alongside fellow Swedish icons Bladee and Ecco2k, Robyn’s verse lands as a genuinely exciting crossover moment.
On the second track, ‘Fembot (Mechatok Remix),’ Mechatok puts his own spin on the Robyn classic, originally the first release on her landmark Body Talk album. The reworked version has already become part of Robyn’s live world, opening her 2026 arena tour to a rapturous response each night.
The collaboration arrives following a major year for Mechatok, whose 2025 debut album Wide Awake established him as a singular artist in his own right, with DAZED saying he “redefined pop music for an entire generation”. Featuring a carefully curated global cast of contributors including Bladee, Ecco2k, Isabella Lovestory, f5ve and Tohji, the album is a future-facing statement that positioned Mechatok not simply as a sought-after producer and collaborator, but as a solo artist in full command of his own voice and world. Since its release, he has continued to build on that momentum through a series of high-profile collaborations with fakemink, eera, v8 and more, with this new release marking another unexpected expansion of his musical universe.
Mechatok and Robyn first worked together previously, before reconnecting in Berlin this summer when Mechatok supported Robyn at her Uber Arena show in July. Now, with a live debut of the “Expression On Your Face” remix in the works, the collaboration is set to move from record to stage — more details to follow. In addition to his support slot for Robyn, Mechatok has also toured with FKA Twigs, Pinkpantheress, CLAIR 白欣, and more this year.
For Robyn, the release arrives following her latest album Sexistential, a sold-out US tour, and just ahead of her homecoming show at Stockholm’s 3Arena on October 17. Mechatok joins a formidable roster of artists reimagining Robyn’s music this year, alongside Zara Larsson, Arca, Yung Lean, and CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso.
