Methyl Ethel, the brainchild of musical polymath Jake Webb, has shared a new single and accompanying video for ‘Drink Wine’. The bold track opens Methyl Ethel’s second studio album, Everything Is Forgotten, released via Dot Dash / Remote Control Records / Rhythmethod.
Directed by Paxi (behind the surrealism-flavoured visuals for ‘Ubu’) and filmed in Sydney, Australia, ‘Drink Wine’ is the Perth-based outfit’s fourth single. Watch the video in full below.
Praise for Everything Is Forgotten Feature Album – triple j Feature Album – RTR FM “Methyl Ethel’s second record is full of these moments, these inescapably artful, musical chess moves.” – Herald Sun, ????? “Main man Jake Webb has brewed up slippery melodies and dextrous rhythms across 11 enigmatic yet engaging tracks, polished in London by James Ford … and poised to make Methyl Ethel our most addictive export since Tame Impala.” – The West Australian, ???? “…Webb has stepped up his songwriting enough to stand on his own.” – Rolling Stone Australia “Webb describes the title as coming to him in a dream, but it could just as easily be a nod toward the power of this record demanding your full attention insisting you forget everything else.” – 4ZZZ |
