MJ LENDERMAN & THE WIND share full length live concert film

MJ Lenderman & The Wind share Live At Brooklyn Steel, a full-length live concert film of their 2025 performance at that venue. The film, directed by Ben Turok, captures the band in top form and in the middle of their sold out Manning Fireworks tour, shortly after the release of that celebrated album.

Speaking of Manning Fireworks, can you believe this Saturday marks the one year anniversary of that modern classic’s release? What followed was beyond anyone’s wildest imagination: Performances on the Tonight Show (and a meme-worthy encounter with Shaq), Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Austin City Limits, NPR’s Tiny Desk, profiles in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, GQ, Bitter Southerner, The Ringer, Garden & Gun and so many more, entirely sold-out tours at some of the biggest venues the band has ever played, and, recently, three nominations at the 24th Annual Americana Honors & Awards, including Album of the Year. And album of the year it certainly was, at least based on the endless array of year-end lists the record populated towards the end of 2024, including The New Yorker’s and New York Times’ #1 slots.

Another piece of good news is the return of Live And Loose!, Lenderman & The Wind’s celebrated live album from 2023 that was initially only released on cassette before a very limited 2025 Record Store Day pressing, which sold out immediately. Pre-orders for Live And Loose! are up today!

PRAISE FOR MJ LENDERMAN’S  – MANNING FIREWORKS

“Lenderman captures something true and profound about what it’s like to come of age in a world that is hugely unsteady, and how dark it can feel, not knowing what to do with your yearning.” The New Yorker, #1 in “The Best Albums of 2024”

“Manning Fireworks claims Americana for the kids with revoked drivers licenses and the families with Christmas decorations in the yard in June; it claims rock for the unheroic and uncool, the purveyors of awkward pauses.” NPR Music, The 50 Best Albums of 2024

“Lenderman is able to cut through the wit and expose raw loneliness, cementing himself as one of Gen-Z’s sharpest lyricists.” VOGUE, “The 36 Best Albums of 2024”

“Manning Fireworks proceeds like a greatest hits collection. Every line is a short story. Its jokes are profound, its wisdom ridiculous, its irreverence wide-eyed and irresistible.” — Pitchfork, #4 in “The 50 Best Albums of 2024”

“Combining a sweet, slacker’s neigh and a disarmingly precise pen, MJ Lenderman sings like someone who doesn’t care but writes like someone who secretly, very deeply, does.” New York Times, #1 in Lindsay Zoladz’ Best Albums of 2024

“Odds are high people will be checking out the Himbo Dome for years, if not decades, to come.”  — UPROXX, “The Best Albums of 2024″

“One of those singles where the first time you heard it, you knew you were listening to something special.” Treble on “She’s Leaving You,” #3 in “The Best Songs of 2024”

“On Manning Fireworks — and its collection of rootsy, reserved, reflective tunes — the Asheville songwriter is well on his way to becoming a folk hero for the light-beer-drinking, good-natured, bleeding hearts of the underground.” Consequence, #18 in “50 Best Albums of 2024”
