POP ETC are excited to announce the forthcoming release of their debut, self-titled album via Rough Trade/ Rhythmethod on June 12.
POP ETC was recorded by the band over the course of 2011 at both Headphone Cave and Pull Studios in New York City as well as in Los Angeles at SoundEQ Studios. Though largely produced by the band, the album also features contributions from Danger Mouse and Andrew Dawson (Kanye, Lil’ Wayne, etc)
Until late last month the band was known as the morning benders – they announced the name change to POP ETC via this announcement (http://www.themorningbenders.com/) and at the same time released a free mixtape featuring all new material (http://popetcetera.com/)
Pitchfork announced the release with an extensive interview with the band’s frontman Chris Chu. You can read more about POP ETC here (http://pitchfork.com/news/46067-pop-etc-talk-name-change-new-album/).
