A veritable plethora of  super fine indie goodness announced from The Label stable for Laneways 2011.
Perfectly timed announce for the launch of the stunning debut album from L.A. spunks, Warpaint. ‘The Fool’ (Rough Trade)will be out in NZ on Monday October 25th.

And… another great timing coordination with the release of the first music video for a song from this album…

What they’re like LIVE here: –
As you’ve possibly seen all of the other Label artists have recently released albums also:
 Deerhunter – Halcyon Digest (4AD)
Metacritic are exalting with an 86% thumbs up across the known media universe.
Gorgeous (shockingly inspired) first single ‘Helicopter’ on video here: – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5RzpPrOd-4
Bradford doesn’t often do press interviews but a couple of weeks ago did do a video chat for fans that ended up lasting 4 hours!!  Some pearlers to be gleaned here and you can scroll by question through the 4 hours.. J
Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti – Before Today (4AD)
California based singer songwriter – with his band Haunted Graffiti. A master of home recording with a timeless sound you can never really be sure when it came from.
Clearly recordings aren’t the only thing he likes to tinker with – how about your brain! Here’s the art for first single ‘Round and Round’….
The artist’s name is Saimon Chow.
Their quite comparatively raucous 2nd single Bright Lit Blue Skies video here: –
Holy Fuck – Latin (Young Turks)
If you’re not familiar with them – perhaps the fastest picture I can give you is a cross between Ratatat and The xx.

Latin America music video: –

Stonkin’ live performers – these could guys could get the “Surprise Of The Day” award….
Blonde Redhead – Penny Sparkle (4AD)
I thought Laneway’s description of these guys as “indie Titans” spot on actually.
Penny Sparkle is the sublime new album from the fêted New York trio. This will be the first time Blonde Redhead play in New Zealand and as such their fan base here is small but devoted!  That is set to change once these masters of musical dreaminess hit the stage…
