NEKO CASE
WILD CREATURES
The career retrospective album ‘Wild Creatures’ pulls together the high points of feral joy from over twenty years of solo work by Neko Case.
With a career spanning over twenty years, she has famously collaborated with The New Pornographers and Case/ Lang/ Veirs in addition to releasing many critically acclaimed solo albums, including ‘Fox Confessor Brings The Flood’, ‘Middle Cyclone’ and most recently 2018’s ‘Hell-On’.
Gathering power year after year, Neko sings with the fierce abandon of a newborn infant crying in a basket in the woods. Since escaping the labels of country and Americana, the gorgeous train-whistle vocals of her early career sit submerged in her later style, where their ghost can appear any minute. When her voice jumps an octave, it’s almost visible, like sparks at night. “I never knew where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do with my voice,” she says, “but I just wanted to do it so bad.”
Available on limited eco mix vinyl.

ANOHNI AND THE JOHNSONS
MY BACK WAS A BRIDGE FOR YOU TO CROSS
My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross, ANOHNI’s 6th studio album, shape-shifts through a broad range of subject matter to express a world view. Through a personal lens, ANOHNI addresses loss of loved ones, inequality, alienation, acceptance, cruelty, ecocide, devastation wrought by Abrahamic theologies, Future Feminism, and the possibility that we might yet transform our ways of thinking, our spiritual ideas, our societal structures, and our relationships with the rest of nature.
On her first full album since 2016’s HOPELESSNESS, she explains the creative process was painstaking, yet also inspired, joyful, and intimate, a renewal and a renaming of her response to the world as she sees it. “Some of these songs respond to global and environmental concerns first voiced in popular music over 50 years ago.”
My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross is a record both personal and inextricably political, demonstrating music’s unique capacity to bring harmony to competing, sometimes contradictory, elements. “For me, there’s no heavenly respite; Creation is a spectral and feminine continuum, and our souls are an inalienable part of nature,” says ANOHNI.

LIFEGUARD
CROWD CAN TALK/DRESSED IN TRENCHES EP
Crowd Can Talk / Dressed in Trenches, a composite of two EPs by Lifeguard. Crowd Can Talk was originally released in the summer of 2022 by Chicago label Born Yesterday, while Dressed in Trenches features five brand new and unreleased songs.
Crowd Can Talk and Dressed in Trenches are closely related. They were recorded in separate sessions, but at the same studio (Electrical Audio) and with the same engineer (Mike Lust) and within the space of 12 months. Each finds the band refining its voice – honing songs that are succinct, hooky, and propulsive. There’s a newly disciplined attention to detail. Lifeguard write together through collaboration and improvisation, but they’ve learned to streamline their sound, to make each hook, beat, and gesture purposeful.
