Artist, producer, DJ and cultural icon Peggy Gou releases the hotly-anticipated video for her global, chart-topping hit single “(It Goes Like) Nanana”. Directed by Thomas Hardiman and featuring Gou herself as creative director, the “(It Goes Like) Nanana” video is a pitch-perfect accompaniment to the song, a celebration of summer that features Peggy and friends enjoying all the charms of the video’s Ibizan backdrop.
Widely regarded as the international song of the summer, “(It Goes Like) Nanana” was released in June to widespread acclaim and quickly became a worldwide phenomenon, soundtracking sunsets and sunrises around the world. It has already racked up a quarter of a billion streams, topping the singles charts across Europe, spending months in the top 10 of the UK singles charts and debuting at number 1 on the Global Shazam Chart. It’s also currently sat in the top 40 of the US Billboard chart.
“(It Goes Like) Nanana” is the first single to be taken from Gou’s eagerly-anticipated debut album and her first release for XL Recordings. Featuring Gou’s own vocals and inimitable contemporary club production, it’s inspired by the eclectic house and pop classics that defined the Balearic sound alongside 90s and 2000s dance anthems.
Speaking about the single, Peggy says: “There’s a feeling we all know but is hard to describe, that feeling of love, warmth and excitement when you’re surrounded by friends and loved ones and the energy speaks for itself. It’s difficult to put into words but to me it goes ‘nanana!’”
Meanwhile, “(It Goes Like) Nanana” will be released on 12” vinyl this Friday (29th September). Featuring the original version alongside a brand new “(It Goes Like) Nanana – Nanadub” version, it’s available to pre-order HERE
