Perfume Genius (Mike Hadreas) has released a video for ‘Me & Angel’, taken from his critically acclaimed album Glory, directed by Otium. Hadreas says, “Me & Angel is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever made. I wrote it very quickly one night, kind of suddenly and with the entire melody and lyric coming together almost immediately. So I never had to revisit the demo. Taking it to the studio though was difficult, I had to do a lot of takes because I was getting so emotional. That has never happened before. Following the release of Glory, Perfume Genius (Mike Hadreas) embarked on an extensive tour with his full band, performing across North America, Europe, and the UK. Today, he announces his “Duo Tour” for Spring 2026 – a more intimate run of shows featuring Hadreas and longtime Perfume Genius collaborator, keyboardist, and co-writer Alan Wyffels. Hadreas spoke on the tour saying, “Alan was the first person I ever sang in front of. We’ve played every single show together for 15 years. When we started it was just him and I, perched on our keyboards at the front of the stage. I miss a lot of those older songs and how intense they could be with just the two of us. We’re excited to go back there. We want to sing stripped down versions of newer songs as well and write some new music altogether to play as a duo.”
Perfume Genius has earned a GRAMMY Award nomination in the “Best Album Cover” category for the artwork on Glory. He worked with Creative Director Cody Critcheloe on the design and this marks his second GRAMMY nomination.
For Glory Hadreas re-teamed with long-time producer Blake Mills and keyboardist and co-writer Alan Wyffels. Mills was also nominated for a GRAMMY for Producer of the Year, Non Classical for his work on this album and others. The LP explores recurring themes that have shaped his artistic journey – examining the body and its decay, of domesticity and love, and of inescapable history and damage. Glory landed on several “best of 2025 so far” lists including Billboard, Flood, Entertainment Weekly, and Brooklyn Vegan.
