Pickle Darling‘s new album, Bots, finds project mastermind Lukas Mayo ruminating on adulthood. Recently released via Father/Daughter Records, the album explores how broken things can feel complete. It’s fitting that these eight maximalist songs almost crashed a laptop in the making, completed at the brink of hard drive collapse. Despite weighty context, prior singles ‘Violence Voyager,’ ‘Congratulations Champion,’ ‘ Human Bean Instruction Manual,’ and ‘Massive Everything’ have been warm and surreal. Even at their most existential, Mayo has an inescapable knack for conjuring sonic light.
This week Pickle Darling has shared a charming visualiser for Bots track ‘Steps’. Watch it below.
